Foster keeps up Title pressure in Darwin

Foster and Mostert resumed their championship battle in Hidden Valley, with Foster finishing fourth overall for the round with results of fourth, third and fourth in the three races held over the weekend.
Foster, who qualified fifth, was disappointed not to stand on the podiums for the third time this year, but still managed to keep his run of consistent top five finishes going.
“We’ve had two events where we have been OK but it has been disappointing not to be as high as we’d like to be,” said Foster.
“We have had good car speed from our Steeline Mygale but just missed the podium.
“The important thing is that we’ve been getting solid finishes and keep adding to our points tally.”
Mostert, who won this weekend’s round, sits just 14 points ahead of Foster on the championship points table.
Foster has his sights set on further consistency and improvement as he seeks to track down his fellow Queenslander.
“Chaz (Mostert) has pulled the gap out a little in the points but anything can happen, so I need to just keep scoring as many points as I can,” said Foster.
“Our car speed is there and we are not far off. It will only take a little bit of improvement to be on top again. We just need to work as hard as ever between now and Townsville.
“We’ve got the consistency going so we’ve just got to try and stay in there and keep scoring points. Then when it is our day we need to challenge for top results.”
The next round of the Genuine Ford Parts Australian Formula Ford Championship will be held at the Sucrogen Townsville 400 in far north Queensland on July 9-11.
