HDT Sponsors V8 Ute driven by Marty Miller
Saturday, December 4th, 2010
Local driver Marty Miller will once again make a surprise return to the V8 Ute Championship in this weekend’s Sydney Telstra 500 event around the Homebush Bay street circuit. Marty is no stranger to V8 Ute racing having raced in the inaugural Sydney event last year in addition to competing full-time in the series back in 2004/05. He returns to the field with his own team, a new car, new nickname and new sponsors. Racing under the Brock Race Engineering franchise, Marty “BULLPITT” Miller brings two totally new sponsors to the sport in The Complete Soda Blasting Company and Marty’s own Sydney Soda Blasting. Soda Blasting is a non-abrasive surface cleaning or paint removing technique that can be used in any number of applications; from graffiti removal from buildings to bare metal stripping of cars, bikes, boats etc. To showcase what Soda Blasting is about, Marty’s V8 Ute will feature a soda blasted bare metal tailgate across the weekend.
Having raced at last year’s event, Marty is looking to improve on his previous results. “Last year was good but we weren’t in control of our own destiny. This year, with the deal James Brock has given us, we’re in total control of everything. The car preparation and race setup has been done by my usual crew who will also assist me over the weekend. Things really couldn’t be any better!” explains Marty.
Minor support also comes from The Sign Centre, JC ART, M&N Smash Repairs and HDT. “I’m very grateful for everyone’s support” says Marty. “As an old Brocky fan it is great to have some support from HDT so we made sure that the front of the Ute is very HDT-ish. It looks sensational and I can’t wait to get it on the track.”
The V8 Utes have two Practice Sessions on Friday, followed by Qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday with Races 2 and 3 on Sunday. Look for Marty “BULLPITT” Miller in the #89 Holden VE SS Ute. And no, it’s not a Kingswood!
