Authenticate your HDT

HDT Special Vehicles are the only company in Australia motoring history that offer the service of authenticating original built cars. You can actually get a copy of your vehicles’ “birth papers”. When HDT was purchased by Peter Champion in 2007,  one of our main priorities was to preserve the original build papers that were in existence from when Peter Brock built and owned HDT Special Vehicles. 

A substantial program has been undertaken to electronically scan all documents in the files to ensure the protection of the originals. We also began to keep records of people who currently owned HDT vehicles as they approached us for a copy of their birth papers.  We are using this infomation to work towards our plan of tracing as many of the original 4246 vehicles that were manufactuered as plated cars by Peter Brock and his team.

We set about reproducing a copy of the ‘birth papers’ for the authenticated owner of the vehicle today. These papers are provided on security embedded paper and come complete with a certificate of ownership,  they are  all supplied in a leather bound folder. The authenticated owner also gets as part of this package an Originals key ring engraved with his build # and a cap bearing the HDT Originals logo and the famous Peter Brock signature. The cost for the kit is $329.00, which includes GST, handling and registered post delivery to anywhere in Australia.

You will need provide particular information to us to obtain a copy of these ‘birth papers’. Essentially this is to establish that you are the current owner of the vehicle. To ensure the best protection for HDT original cars, we do not issue papers to anyone other than the registered owner.

You will need to provide proof of ownership of the vehicle and also provide photographic evidence of your vehicle (ie. photo of the build plate and engine plate).  This security measure is put in place to ensure that no-one else can get copies of your papers and make a ‘replica’ of your vehicle and pass it off as such.

In the instance where we are unable to locate any papers for your vehicle, which does happen unfortunately. Obviously you will not be charged but we cannot authenticate your vehicle either. We can only authenticate against original paper work held in the files since the 1980′s.

It’s a great addition to have with your collectable numbered HDT car and if for some reason you at any time you are looking at selling the car, this paperwork proves irrevocably that your car is an original. Hence the value of your car is enhanced.
