Cam Waters wins the 3rd round of the 2011 Australian Formula Ford Championship

The third round of the 2011 Australian Formula Ford Championship held at Eastern Creek last weekend saw Fujitsu ‘Cool’ Drivers Cameron Waters and Nick Foster score a resounding one-two finish.

Sixteen-year-old Waters scored his first overall round win after setting pole position and dominating the first two of the three races making up the round, before claiming a second place in the final event.   Waters now leads the championship points by an increased margin over Foster, who enjoyed his best weekend of the year, claiming a fourth and fifth place finish before pipping Waters for the win in the final.

Foster now sits second in the championship with the next round to take place at Queensland Raceway over the weekend of August 19-21.

Four Fujitsu ‘Cool’ Drivers contested the Eastern Creek event with Shae Davies finishing in 10th place overall and Rhett Noonan claiming a pair of points for 20th after failing to finish the weekend’s second event.

The only Fujitsu ‘Cool’ karting representative to compete during the weekend was 13-year-old Damon Strongman, who contested the third round of the Star Series at Geelong.  Damon enjoyed a stellar weekend, claiming first place in Junior National Light and third overall in the Junior National Heavy Class.
