NICK FOSTER SECOND FASTEST IN IPSWICH PRACTICE

Nick Foster drives the #2 Steeline Mygale

Foster recovered from Practice 1 earlier today, where he could only manage ninth fastest aboard the #2 Steeline Mygale.

Improvements from Foster and his Sonic Motor Racing team saw him jump to second in the second practice session at Foster’s home circuit.

Foster was on 0.0105 seconds behind his Sonic team-mate and fellow Shannons Supercar Showdown contestant Cameron Waters, who was fastest today.

Qualifying and three races will be held at Queensland Raceway over this weekend.

“Start of the day you always wonder what the car will come out of the truck and drive like in first practice,” said Nick Foster.

“It came out in Practice 1 and it wasn’t great but we worked on the set-up and Practice 2 had us second and there was nothing in it between me and Cam.

“We always knew that this round would be a hard fought round because it always is here at Queensland Raceway.

“It’s a tough track to pull away from other cars and it’s a tough track to be really fast because a lot of guys are fast here and have done a lot of laps around this place.

“We’ve got two practice sessions under our belt and Cam and I have got off to a good start compared to the rest of the field.

“It’s good to start well but now we look to tomorrow and the rest of the weekend. We’ll keep working hard and hopefully our plans and luck all fall into place.”
