Nick Foster drives the #2 Steeline Mygale
Steeline-backed driver Nick Foster is aiming for race wins at Round 7 of the 2011 Australian Formula Ford Championship at the Armor All Gold Coast 600 in Surfers Paradise, Queensland this weekend.
Foster enjoys street circuit racing and was one of the fastest drivers at this event last year, with only engine failure denting his pace.
With a sizeable gap between Foster and championship leader Cameron Waters, Foster will be pushing hard for race wins this weekend.
NICK FOSTER – #2 Steeline Mygale:
“I’m very keen to bounce back after a bit of a tough round at Phillip Island last month,” said Foster.
“We had good pace there but not much luck in what were changeable track conditions.
“I’ll be pushing to be a lot better in qualifying on the Gold Coast. You need to do that to be up there from the start and to put good weekend together.
“Other than an engine failure we had a great event at Surfers last year. I love street tracks, especially the Gold Coast track, so I’m looking forward to getting back there.
“It’s a pretty loose track in a Formula Ford and definitely one of the best places we race. You really need to throw the car around to squeeze everything out of it.
“It rewards aggressive driving. They have resurfaced some parts of track for this year to remove some bumps hampering the V8 guys so it will be better for us.
“It’s a difficult place to set-up the car but Sonic has got a great package. The Steeline Mygale is good over the bumps. We saw that at QR so I’m looking forward to this weekend.”
